Domestic Metered Consumers
JKPDD revised the power tariff to ease the impact of a 15% tariff increase, the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (PDD) announced the removal of Electricity Duty (ED) from all categories of consumers Domestic, Commercial Industrial, Agriculture, etc., in its updated power tariff.
The decision is effective from December 1, 2023, and follows the issuance of a new Tariff Order by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC), Jammu & Kashmir.
The JERC, after careful consideration and adherence to standard procedures, implemented a 15% tariff hike while keeping fixed charges unchanged. It’s worth noting that the adjusted overall tariff rate remains lower than the actual procurement cost incurred by the corporations supplying power to consumers.
